Lent Worship 2010

 

PROGRAMME FOR LENT 2010

Following the traditional pattern of the observance of Lent, there will a number of additional opportunities throughout Lent for us to deepen our knowledge and experience of God through worship and reflection:

WORSHIP:

  • Ash Wednesday (17 February):

            11.00am    Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes
              8.00pm    Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes

  • Every Wednesday throughout Lent (from 24 February): 

              7.15pm    An informal Eucharist (30 minutes)

  • Mothering Sunday  (14 March):     

10.00am   Parish Family Eucharist – with presentation posies
                 and simnel cake  (All children in church today – no
                 Sunday School classes)

THINKING ABOUT OUR FAITH:

  • Four Tuesday evenings (from 23 February): 

  8.00pm   Ecumenical Lent Course – “Easter Tales”  
                 Winchmore Hill Methodist Church

  • Every Wednesday afternoon (from 24 February):

        2.00pm   MU Lent course – Committee Room (Parish Hall)

DAY OF REFLECTION: “Our Father”

  • Saturday 6 March  

     10.00am – 3.30pm, at St Holy Trinity Church, Winchmore Hill
A day of reflection for Lent (including Mass, two Addresses, silence, Stations of the Cross, and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament).  See notice

  • Palm Sunday (28 March):

10.00am   Parish Eucharist and Blessing of Palms
                 and Procession – assemble at the Intimate Theatre

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday in Holy Week: 

             7.17pm    Eucharist

  • Maundy Thursday (1 April):  

10.30am    Diocesan Chrism Eucharist and Renewal of Ordination Vows – St Paul’s Cathedral (all are welcome)

  8.00pm    Eucharist (Commemoration of the Lord’s Supper)  and
                  the Foot-washing followed by ‘the Watch’ until midnight

  • Good Friday (2 April)

          9.30am   All Age activities and Service for Good Friday
       11.15am   Ecumenical Walk of Witness
         2.00pm   Liturgy for Good Friday

  • Easter Eve (3 April)

         8.00pm    EASTER CEREMONIES:  Vigil, Lighting of the
                        New Fire, Blessing of the Easter Candle, and
                        the first Eucharist of Easter

  • Easter Day (4 April)

   8.00am    Eucharist
10.00am    Parish Family Eucharist
